Dassieshoek

Dassieshoek is a two day trail in the Langeberg Mountains. The first day is lengthy (21kms) so it made a good "time on your feet" training day. The trail was very wet and many of us took the opportunity to practice our technical sitdowns. Dave set a new record with five consecutive bottom-outs in under 15mins while Sandy gave a good demonstration on how to "get air" with the use of her trekking poles. Well done to Anthony and the guys that went back to fetch the tail-enders who did the treacherous descent in the dark after 12 hours on the trail.

We found ourselves walking in thick mist for the majority of the trail so I cannot blurb on about the spectacular views. The flowers where amazing though. The landslides caused by the recent rain where the most spectacular (in their devastation that is).
