Kalk Bay mountains,18th June 2007
Well, if that wasn't an interesting walk then I don't know what is. Apart from getting lost once or twice (can't even blame old Mike Lundy here, Peter Slingsby's maps don't cover all the interesting path deviations either) it turned out to be a spectacular walk with the most amazing views of False Bay and surrounds. After yours truly lead team one astray, Peter lead us on an interesting route (thank god - I had visions of having to back track all the way down to the jeep track) down St James Peak and safely back to the car. Team two of course took the correct path back and had to navigate the endless stone steps down Peck's Valley. After looking at the photo's of those steps, I am rather glad we took a wrong path!
